An arraignment is a first appearance by a defendant in a criminal case. The defendant is formally advised of his/her rights and asked to enter a plea to the charge.

STAY OF EXECUTION
An individual or defendant is sentenced by the court and the court grants additional time to complete the sentence. This is called a stay of execution.
