Appeals Form

This form is required for filing an appeal of a Staff, Design Review Board, or Planning and Environmental Commission action/decision. A complete form and associated requirements must be submitted to the Community Development Department within twenty calendar days of the disputed action/decision.




Conditional Use Permit

A conditional use application is required for any use classified as being conditional in the town's zone districts.




Development Plan

Required for a new development plan or for an amendment to a previously approved development plan.




Exemption Plat Review Application

Application is for a request to allow for the platting of property where no additional parcels are created and conformance with applicable provisions of the Vail Town Code has been demonstrated.




Floodplain Modification

A floodplain modification permit is a permit to allow construction of improvements and/or modifications to the adopted floodplain.




Major  or Minor Exterior Alteration or Modifications

Major Exterior Alteration is required for any proposal involving the construction of a new building, the alteration of an existing building which adds removes more than 100 sq. ft. of enclosed floor, or replacement of an existing building, in the Commercial Core 1 District (Vail Village) or Commercial Core 2 District. Also, required for any project in LionsHead Mixed Use 1, District, LionsHead Mixed Use 2 District or Public Accommodation District which adds additional dwelling units, accommodation units, fractional fee club units, time-share units, any project which adds more than 1,000 sq. ft. of commercial floor area or common space, or any project which has substantial off-site impacts.

Minor Exterior Alteration is required for any proposal involving the alteration of an existing building which adds or removes not more than 100 sq. ft. of enclosed floor area, the alteration of an existing building which modifies exterior rooflines, the addition of new outdoor dining deck or the modification of existing outdoor dining deck in the Commercial 1 District (Vail Village) or Commercial Core 2 District.

 




Major or Minor Subdivision Review

Major Subdivision Review is to request to subdivide more than four lots, or a subdivision proposal without all lots having frontage on a public, approved street, or with request to extend Municipal facilities in a significant manner, or proposal which would negatively affect the natural environment as determined under Section 12-12-2 of the Town Code or if the proposal would adversely affect the development of the remainder of the parcel or adjacent property.

Minor Subdivision Review is to request to subdivide no more than four lots fronting on an existing street, not involving any new street or road or the extension of municipal facilities and not adversely affecting the development of the remainder of the parcel or adjoining property.


PEC Joint Property Owner Letter

Joint property owner sign off is required when applying for any Design Review or Planning and Environmental Applications. This applies to duplex and condominium homeowners.




Recycling Exemption Request

A recycling exemption request is required for any applicant needing time to adjust to or eliminate practical difficulties and physical limitations as would result from the strict interpretation and/or enforcement of the recycling regulations.




Rezoning

Request for a change in district boundaries may be initiated by the Town Council, PEC or by petition by any resident or property owner within the town, or by the Town Administrator.




Sign Variance

Sign variance may be granted in order to prevent or to lessen such practical difficulties and unnecessary physical hardships inconsistent with the development objectives of the Town of Vail.




Special Development District (SDD)

This is required for any proposal involving the establishment of a new special development district or an amendment to an existing special development district.




Transmittal Form

Use when submitting additional information regarding a current DRB Application, PEC Application or approved building permit.




Variance

Variances may be granted in order to prevent or to lessen such practical difficulties and unnecessary physical hardships as would result from the strict interpretation and/or enforcement of zoning regulations in consistent with the development objectives of the Town of Vail.




Zoning Code Amendment Change

This is a petition for an amendment to the Town of Vail Municipal Code. Amendments to the Town of Vail Municipal Code may be requested by the Town Council, by the Planning and Environmental Commission, by petition of any resident or property owner in the town, or by the Administrator. The Vail Town Council is the final decision making body for code amendment requests.
