The Dowd Junction recreation path will reopen for the summer season beginning April 16, weather permitting. Town of Vail crews are currently clearing the path and installing a wildlife protection screen which allows for continued use of the path during the deer migration season.
Crews also are preparing to open the recreation path from Sunburst Drive to East Vail the week of April 18. Other sections of recreation path within Vail that are not maintained in winter will reopen as conditions allow, with all paths expected to be cleared and open by April 29.
The Vail Pass recreation path, which is maintained by the Colorado Department of Transportation, is targeted to open by June 1 at the earliest, weather permitting.
