The Town of Vail is accepting bids for construction of streetscape improvements in Lionshead. The project will include utility work and streetscape enhancements at the East Lionshead Circle bus stop on the southwest corner of the parking structure as well as Concert Hall Plaza on the west side of the Lionshead Mall. Elements include storm sewer work, concrete and asphalt pavement, concrete unit pavers, snowmelt system, stone masonry, site lighting, irrigation and landscape improvements.
Interested bidders should email Tom Kassmel, the town’s project manager, at email@example.com to request access to bid specifications which will be available on Feb. 15 from the town’s sharefile website. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 in the Public Works Administration Building. Bids will be opened on March 7.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late April and will continue until the end of June. No work will take place in July and August. The project will restart after Labor Day and is scheduled to be completed by mid-November. Pedestrian access to the Lionshead Mall will remain open at all times during construction.
