6/14/2012

Crews hired by the Town of Vail will begin an annual street maintenance project beginning Tuesday, June 19. The slurry seal work will be taking place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day with completion on June 23. Slurry seal creates a new wearing surface and seals the asphalt to prevent the damaging effects of water intrusion into the pavement.

The following roads are scheduled for this year’s project: Main Gore Drive, Snowshoe Lane, Grouse Lane, Ute Lane, Black Gore Drive, Black Bear Lane, Gore Circle, Juniper Lane, Meadow Drive, Meadow Lane, Nugget Lane, Glen Falls Lane, Columbine Drive south of Bighorn Road, Katsos Ranch Road, Booth Falls Road, Booth Falls Court, Manns Ranch Road, Bald Mountain Road and Mill Creek Circle.

Single-lane traffic will be maintained at all times; however, motorists should expect delays. Traffic will be allowed to return to the new surface after it dries, typically after two hours.

The project contractor is Intermountain Slurry Seal, Inc. of Salt Lake City. For more information, contact Town of Vail project engineer Chad Salli at 479-2169.
