Vail Wi-Fi Public Wireless Network
Residents, businesses and visitors in Vail now have access to broadband wireless Internet service provided through a partnership between the Town of Vail and CenturyTel. Vail WiFi, which launched on Nov. 15, 2006, is the first public municipal Wi-Fi network to be built under a public/private agreement.
Vail WiFi provides wireless broadband Internet service in public locations throughout the town limits. Using either a laptop or handheld computer that is wirelessly-enabled, users can access the Internet at speeds up to 300Kbps (kilobits per second) for one hour of free access per day. Faster service with speeds up to 10Mbps (megabits per second) is available with pay plans for daily, monthly and annual access at Vail Wi-Fi.
Coverage is available most anywhere within Vail's town boundaries. Questions on coverage areas can be directed to CenturyLink at (877) 943-4285.
