Colorado Parks and Wildlife is reminding the public to supervise pets and learn about living with mountain lions after a lion killed a 10-pound dog in Vail at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21. The dog's owner had let her pet into the back patio of the home and when she returned for it a few minutes later, she was unable to locate the dog.

The Town of Vail is seeking bids for the first phase of the Chamonix Neighborhood housing development in West Vail as it relates to installation of site access and utilities. The site work includes construction of water and sanitary sewer mains, storm sewer improvements and conduit for dry utilities. The bid process is occurring as the Town Council simultaneously continues discussions to determine density, unit mix, product type and other components of the for-sale development.
