Free curbside collection of discarded Christmas trees will take place in Vail Dec. 26 through Jan. 31. Trees must be free of lights, tinsel, ornaments, stands and plastic wrapping. Also, trees should be left whole; do not cut trees into sections. Trees should be placed at the side of the road so as not to block the roadway.
Vail Police are alerting citizens to an increase in the theft of unattended packages in the residential neighborhoods. The warning comes after two residents filed theft reports with the Police Department. In both cases, the packages were delivered to a residence and left unattended at the front door. The reported thefts occurred in the West Vail neighborhood.
Vail Police are warning consumers to stay alert for suspicious devices on ATMs after police seized a skimming device from an ATM located inside the Vail Transportation Center, 241 S. Frontage Road. The device was attached directly over the card reader for the machine and was nearly impossible to detect by users.
