You may have recently seen news stories talking about the challenges the 9-1-1 industry face when locating people who call 9-1-1 from a cell phone. While it is true that we face challenges in getting accurate location information from wireless carriers, the news stories left out one important factor in locating callers in emergencies: the human factor.

Members of the Vail Town Council and Eagle County Commissioners will host the second ski and ride gathering of the season this Friday, Feb. 27. Community members are invited to join the elected officials at the base of Gondola One in Vail Village at 10 a.m. No RSVPs are needed to take part in the ski and ride day; participants simply need to meet at the base and assume responsibility for their own equipment, lift ticket and lunch. An intermediate ability level is advised.

Town of Vail is soliciting qualified CM/GC firms interested in submitting qualifications and proposal, for the Town of Vail Golf and Nordic Clubhouse Renovation.
Twenty-eight events are receiving support from the Town of Vail in 2015 following allocations of $850,000 by the Commission on Special Events and approved by the Town Council. The funding comes both from monies collected from business license fees that are paid annually by Vail businesses and the Town of Vail general fund.
