On May 21, the Vail Police Department responded to the Northside Grab and Go, located at 2271 N. Frontage Rd. W on a report that the business had been burglarized the previous night. A black safe containing employee paychecks and business documentation was reported stolen. Investigators could not find any signs of forced entry.

A new election calendar established for Vail’s 2017 regular municipal election means candidates interested in running for one of four open seats on the Vail Town Council will need to file their paperwork well in advance of the Nov. 7 election. The calendar, based on revisions to the Colorado Municipal Election Code to accommodate active military and overseas voters, requires council candidates to file their paperwork by Aug. 28, which is four weeks earlier than in previous elections.
Most Town of Vail municipal offices will be closed Tuesday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. However, the police front counter in the Municipal Building will remain open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The office is available for front counter service and is open Monday through Saturday each week; closed Sundays.
