Emergency responders were dispatched at 10:32 a.m. Saturday, July 27 for a report of a rollover accident at the lower truck ramp at milemarker 182 westbound Interstate 70. Responding agencies included Vail Fire and Emergency Services, Eagle County Paramedic Services, Colorado State Patrol and Vail Police.

Jeremy Gross has joined the Town of Vail staff as the special event coordinator. Gross, formerly with the Town of Eagle and Vail Resorts, will be responsible for supporting all of the event functions that occur in the Town of Vail, ranging from the Library Bake Sale to the Burton US Open and including everything in between.
The right lane closure on westbound Interstate 70 through Dowd Junction, just west of Vail, has been removed. Crews were able to complete ditch cleaning operations Tuesday afternoon. Rocks were removed from the ditch parallel to I-70 to improve its effectiveness as a rockfall catch area.
Vail’s summer season is in full swing and that means more activity on the recreation trails throughout town. This includes use of electric-assisted bikes and authorized group Segway tours.Town regulations allow class 1 and class 2 e-bikes and guided Segway tours on the paved recreation trails in Vail.
Mark your calendars for the Town of Vail’s annual Celebrating Community neighborhood picnic series Tuesday, July 23 at Bighorn Park in East Vail and Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Donovan Pavilion in West Vail. The Colorado Department of Transportation will close the right lane of westbound I-70 through Dowd Junction from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (July 23 – 25) to clean the ditch along the right shoulder to restore its effectiveness as a rockfall catch area. Delays should be anticipated throughout the day.
