Area building officials are hosting a free barbeque in Avon Monday, May 18 to gather input on the 2015 building codes. Architects, contractors and other members of the building community are encouraged to attend the session which takes place from noon to 2 p.m. at the I-70 Regional Transportation Operations Facility, 500 Swift Gulch Road.
The luncheon will allow for members of the community to provide input and ask questions as part of the final stages of a county wide 2015 International Building Code adoption. The building departments within Eagle County along with technical advisory committees from the construction industry have been reviewing the 2015 building codes for possible adoption by the county and towns within Eagle County. These codes include changes to energy, building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical requirements for new construction projects.
Taking part in Monday’s input session will be William Gray, building official, Town of Avon; Martin Haeberle, chief building official, Town of Vail; Robert Kohrmann, building official, Town of Eagle; and Charlie Davis, building official, Safebuilt.
