Enjoy the transformation of public spaces by renowned Coloradan artists throughout the summer. These diverse artists will enhance selected pedestrian entrances with their distinctive styles at the Vail Village and Lionshead Parking structures. Share your images on social media #artinvail.

Kelsey Montague, a fourth generation Coloradan, creates large-scale interactive murals around the world celebrating her inspirational messaging #whatliftsyou. In 2014 Kelsey’s art became a social media craze when Taylor Swift posed in front of one of her ever popular “wing” paintings. Just last month, Swift commissioned Montague to create a mural in Nashville announcing her single ME! generating even more media buzz for the artist. With a degree in Art, Design, and Media from Richmond University in London, Kelsey also studied art in Florence, Italy. She has also published two adult coloring books further connecting the public with her whimsical work. Art in Public Places is delighted engage the public with Montague’s first interactive mural in the mountains of her home state.
Meet the artist Kelsey Montague at her book signing What Lifts Your Heart from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Four Seasons Resort & Residences Vail – Remedy Bar East, One Vail Road. Following the book signing, walk with Kelsey to the official unveiling and photo opportunities at her mural in Vail Village at 5:15 p.m.

Meet at the Vail Village Welcome Center
Enjoy a free one hour public art tour of Vail each Wednesday of the month starting June 26 through August 28. Meet at 11:00 a.m. at the Vail Village Welcome Center on the top level of the Vail Village parking structure. The tour winds its way through the Village with discussions of the history of the Vail Valley, the founding of Vail mountain, the master planning of the Village, and the importance of site-specific art. The Town of Vail’s public art collection includes over 55 works of art.
A printed map of the Town of Vail’s public art collection map is available at the Vail Village and Lionshead Welcome Centers. The map not only features 36 works of art in a walkable area of Vail Village and Lionshead, but it also includes the public art beyond town center to explore.
