Booth Heights Development Appeal Hearing Set for Oct. 15

The Town of Vail Community Development Department has accepted a citizen appeal of an approval by the Planning and Environmental Commission of the Booth Heights development application (PEC19-0018). The appeal will be heard by the Vail Town Council during its regular evening meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15. 

Town of Vail Sponsors Candidate Briefing Wednesday, Sept. 25

Interim Vail Town Manager Patty McKenny will host a public briefing for Vail Town Council candidates from 9  to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 in the Town Council Chambers. The briefing will include a budget overview and updates on topics such as economic development, employee housing and the town’s financial health. Candidates will also be encouraged to ask questions of the town staff for additional information-gathering.

Vail Announces Town Manager Finalists

Mayor Dave Chapin has announced the search for the next Vail town manager has been narrowed to four finalists. The candidates will travel to Vail for a series of interviews which are taking place Sept. 16-17. The itinerary will include a community meet and greet reception with the candidates which is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16 at Donovan Pavilion. Members of the public are encouraged to stop by to learn more about the finalists with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

Town Council to Consider November Ballot Question at Sept. 3 Meeting to Impose Local Sales Taxes on Cigarettes, Tobacco and Nicotine Products

The Vail Town Council will consider a resolution at its Tuesday, Sept. 3 meeting to place a question on the Nov. 5 election ballot asking voters to consider imposing local sales taxes on the purchase of cigarettes, tobacco and nicotine products within the town. Resolution No. 36 is listed as action item 5.1 on the evening meeting agenda which begins at 6 p.m. in the Vail Town Council Chambers with opportunities for public comment.

Nominating petitions will be available beginning Tuesday, Aug. 6 for candidates interested in running for one of four open seats on the Vail Town Council for the Regular Municipal Election in November.
