Invitation to Bid - Exit 180 Landscape Improvements

The construction work includes landscape walls, wetland plantings and irrigation/landscape installation. Work is to be performed at the I-70 East Vail Exit (Exit 180). All work excluding tree and shrub plantings and above ground irrigation is to be completed by October 31, 2018. Plantings and remaining irrigation to be completed in May-June 2019.

Vail America Days Fourth of July Parade Registration Due by June 18
Entries for Vail’s annual Fourth of July parade are currently being accepted by event organizers and are due by 5 p.m. Monday, June 18. The 2018 parade will start at Golden Peak at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 4 and will wind its way through Vail Village, ending in Lionshead. The theme for the parade is “America's Great Outdoors” providing guests and participants with the opportunity to celebrate the beauty that Mother Nature provides.

Community Recycling Report Shows Progress Toward 2019 Goal
Vail has recorded a 22 percent combined community recycling rate according to an annual update prepared by the town’s Environmental Sustainability Office. The recycling rate is calculated as a percentage of the total amount of municipal solid waste collected within the town. Benchmark comparisons include a rate of 14.7 percent recorded for all of Eagle County in 2010; the national average is 34 percent.
