On Thursday, Sept. 17, crews will be working to repair a culvert underneath eastbound I-70 on Vail Pass. The work, which will take place near mile marker 180.97, approximately one mile east of the East Vail exit, involves steaming the culvert lining in order to cure it. Nearby residents may notice the steam, along with a strong odor, for approximately one hour on Thursday afternoon. While the smell is unpleasant, the odor is harmless.
