Vail Names New Economic Development Director
The Town of Vail has announced the selection of Mia Vlaar to serve as its new economic development director. Vlaar brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position having served in a number of corporate, government and non-profit marketing and management roles since moving to the valley in 1988. She’ll join the town’s executive team effective January 1, 2018.

Swearing-In Ceremony for New Town Council Members Set for Nov. 21
Newly elected Vail Town Council members Dave Chapin, Jenn Bruno and Travis Coggin will be sworn-in to four-year terms at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 during an organization meeting of the Town Council. A fourth member, Greg Moffet, will be unable to attend the meeting and has previously been sworn-in by the Vail Town Clerk. Moffet will serve the two-year term as the fourth highest vote getter. Vail Town Council to Consider Short-Term Rental Regulations Tuesday, Nov. 21
The Vail Town Council will consider first reading of an ordinance that would add additional regulations to the town’s short-term rental requirements at its regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 21. The action item is listed as 5.2 on the evening meeting agenda which begins at 6 p.m. in the Vail Town Council Chambers with opportunities for public comment.

Annual Food Drive Underway
The annual Stock the Pantry Food Drive is taking place through Wednesday, Nov.  22 throughout Eagle County. The Food Drive will include collections from area schools on Friday, Nov. 17 and will culminate on Wednesday when representatives from the Vail Police Department, Eagle County Sheriff’s Office and other area law enforcement agencies join Colorado Mountain Express in collecting food.

Most Town of Vail Offices Closed for Thanksgiving

Town of Vail municipal offices, with the exception of the police front counter, will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23 in observance of Thanksgiving. This holiday closure includes the parking pass sales office. The police front counter will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Regular hours for all other offices will resume Friday, Nov. 24. The Vail Public Library will be closed beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22 and will remain closed all day Thursday.
