Vail Town Council to Conduct Additional Screenings of Top 2 Town Manager Finalists

The search for a new Vail town manager has been narrowed to two candidates following interviews with three finalists. The top two candidates selected unanimously by the town council are David Buckingham, city manager of Morrow Bay, Calif., and Jay Harrington, town manager of Carbondale. A third candidate, Michael Kovacs, city manager of Fate, Texas, is no longer in the running.

Vail Public Safety Communications Center Supervisor Bonnie Collard has been named 2017 Supervisor of the Year by the statewide chapter of 9-1-1 professionals. Collard was honored during a presentation ceremony on April 18 sponsored by the National Emergency Number Association and Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials. The annual awards ceremony coincides with National Public Safety Telecommunicator’s Week and celebrates the top 9-1-1 professionals in the state.

Vail Underpass Frontage Road Detours Pushed to May 1 Due to Weather
Based on inclement weather forecast for the next few days, the I-70 Vail Underpass project team is delaying the implementation of the Frontage Road one-way detours. These detours are now anticipated to go into effect the week of May 1.
