Town of Vail Awarded Great Place to Work Certification
The Town of Vail has been certified as a “Great Place to Work” by independent analysts following a review of workplace ratings provided by town employees in anonymous surveys. To achieve the workplace certification, survey metrics must exceed a 70 percent benchmark.

Pile Burning in Vail Planned Thursday as Conditions Allow

Crews from the U.S. Forest Service have scheduled pile burns for Thursday, Feb. 23 as conditions permit. The operations will take place south of Sequoia Drive in West Vail. The piles were built as part of the ongoing Vail Intermountain Fuels Reduction Project which is a partnership between the U.S. Forest Service, Town of Vail and Eagle County.

Vail Town Council Members Join in Re-dedication of East Vail Fire Station
The Vail Town Council joined in celebrating the re-dedication of the East Vail fire station during its Feb. 21 meeting. Accompanied by the architect team, contractor, neighbors, firefighters and other well-wishes, Council members joined Fire Chief Mark Novak and Town Manager Stan Zemler in a traditional hose uncoupling ceremony followed by a tour of the facility.

Vail Police Caution Against Ski Pass Fraud

The Vail Police Department has seen an increase in the amount of fraudulent ski pass use over this same time last season. So far this season, 39 criminal cases have been reported as opposed to only 4 cases last season during the same period. As a reminder, using another person’s ski pass can have criminal consequences and potentially bar the unauthorized user from skiing the entire season.
