Town of Vail Celebrates America Recycles Day Early on Nov. 1
The Town of Vail’s celebration of America Recycles Day returns for its fourth year with a collection event for e-waste and paper shredding. This year the collection event will also accept old vinyl banners and used bike tubes. America Recycles Day is held annually on Nov. 15; however due to the opening of Vail Mountain for the 2019-2020 ski season on that date, the Town of Vail has opted to celebrate early. Seasonal Closure of Gore Valley Recreation Trail at Dowd Junction Scheduled for Oct. 31

The seasonal closure of the Gore Valley Recreation Trail through Dowd Junction is scheduled for the end of day Thursday, Oct. 31. The trail is closed during the first snowstorms of the season, which typically triggers deer and elk migration through the Mud Springs wildlife underpass which crosses under the trail.

The Town of Vail and Eagle River Water & Sanitation District will sponsor another installment in the Lunch with the Locals series at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Grand View on the top level of Lionshead parking structure. Attendees will enjoy a free lunch while listening to Pete Wadden, watershed education coordinator, discuss the “lawn-industrial complex” and how reducing turf grass in your landscaping can save water, sequester carbon and attract native wildlife.
