Town Council Seeks Applicants for Vacancy on Vail Local Housing Authority

The Town of Vail is seeking applications from community members to fill a mid-term vacancy on the Vail Local Housing Authority. Applications are due to the town by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10. Applicants will be interviewed by the Town Council at its Feb. 21 afternoon meeting, with an appointment to follow at its evening meeting.

Vail Joins Regional Partners in Launching Electric Car Purchase Program

The Town of Vail has joined Garfield Clean Energy and 10 other partners in launching the first phase of a program to provide a special deal for electric car buyers. The aim is for local auto dealers to offer discounted pricing on electric vehicles for a 90-day period starting April 1.

What You Should Know about the Spruce Bark Beetle
The blue spruce is the official state tree of Colorado and an important streamside species. Their roots stabilize soil, preventing erosion. Their cones provide food for squirrels and birds, such as nuthatches. Their branches offer shelter and nesting space. However, these towering trees are threatened by a tiny enemy.
