Vail Police Investigating Fatal Crash
At 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, Vail officers responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on I-70 eastbound at mile marker 181. Upon arrival, officers determined an SUV had collided with cement barriers and drove off of the bridge landing on Bighorn Road.

Water Rights Attorney Glenn Porzak to be Recognized with 2019 Vail Trailblazer Award
Glenn Porzak, the water rights attorney who has worked tirelessly through the decades to advance and protect water rights for Vail and the Western Slope, has been selected as the recipient of the 2019 Vail Trailblazer Award. Presented by the Vail Town Council, the Vail Trailblazer Award has been established as an annual civic recognition to honor those who contribute their time and talent to make Vail a great resort community.

Vail Fire Issues Reminder about Removing Snow Near Utility Meters
The Vail Fire Department is reminding property owners and maintenance personnel to be mindful in clearing ice and snow around natural gas and electric meters. During a recent 24-hour period, a combination of roof shoveling and snowplowing caused several incidents in which gas meters were damaged resulting in several dangerous gas leaks. These gas leaks caused the evacuation of 12 units in a multi-family complex as well as several homes in a residential neighborhood.
