Town Manager Transition Taking Place this Month
Greg Clifton, Vail’s newly-appointed town manager, is transitioning to his new job over the next few weeks. Mayor Dave Chapin will introduce Clifton at the Tuesday, Sept. 5 Town Council meeting. Clifton is only the seventh town manager in Vail’s 51 year municipal history. He comes to Vail from the town of Telluride where he has spent the last seven years as town manager. Short-Term Rental Discussions Continue Tuesday, Sept. 5
The Vail Town Council will continue its review of policy considerations regarding the regulation and compliance of short-term rentals during its evening meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 5. The discussion item is listed as 6.1 on the meeting agenda which begins at 6 p.m. in the Vail Town Council Chambers with opportunities for public comment.

Town of Vail Issues Reminder about Proper Disposal of Refuse in Residential Neighborhoods
Streets/parks maintenance crews with the Town of Vail Public Works Department have been faced with recent abuses of improper refuse disposal in neighborhood parks and other public places in which the containers are being used to illegally deposit household waste and garbage. In some instances, multiple garbage bags have been dumped next to the town’s receptacles in anticipation of proper disposal by town crews.

Community Picnic Suggestions and Responses Compiled by Town of Vail
Comments and suggestions from the 2017 Town of Vail neighborhood picnics have been compiled and are being evaluated by the Town Council and staff. Comments have been sorted into the categories of neighborhoods, short-term rentals, enforcement, public safety, environment, events, parking, major construction projects and compliments. The picnics were held on July 25 at Bighorn Park and on Aug. 15 at Donovan Park and are used as a community outreach measure to connect with residents and guests.
