Vail Fire & Emergency Services is the recipient of a $6,091 donation made possible by Neil-Garing Insurance and its partnership with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. The grant will be used to purchase new breathing masks.
“These breathing masks are a new design which will allow a firefighter to withstand a higher degree temperature when using them than with our older style masks,” said Fire Chief Mark Novak. “This new equipment will provide a greater level of safety for our firefighters.”
A grant presentation ceremony was on Wednesday, June 24 at the West Vail Fire Station involving representatives from Vail Fire and Neil-Garing Insurance and Fireman’s Fund. The grant program has awarded equipment to the department in previous years, including an extrication device.
