Gore Creek Use Restriction Rescinded as Part of Covered Bridge Repair Project; Waterway Reopened to Boaters

  • 13 May 2015

Gore Creek has reopened for boating effective immediately following the near completion of repairs to the Covered Bridge in Vail Village. A portion of the creek between the Pulis Bridge at the intersection of South Frontage Road and Vail Valley Drive, west to the Covered Bridge had been temporarily closed since April 23 due to safety hazards associated with the bridge repair project.

The “full use restriction order” had been enacted by the Vail Police Department, per the Code of Colorado Regulations 2 CCR 405-2 #217 River Use Restrictions.

Vail’s iconic Covered Bridge has been closed since April 20 to allow for structure repairs and routine maintenance. The bridge will reopen to pedestrian traffic on Friday, May 15 while the contractor finishes minor punch list items.
