Housing Updates

  • 17 September 2018
  • Resale Lottery updates were adopted by Town Council on July 3, 2018. Changes include individual home sales vs. an annual resale lottery, household size has been removed and a true weighted lottery replaced the 20 year old points based system.  Read the Housing Guidelines for a full explanation of the new processes. Both the guidelines and lottery applications are available now for your review and preparation.

  • The Town of Vail’s newest housing program Vail InDEED launched in September, 2017. A program authorized by the Vail Town Council, Vail InDEED offers individual homeowners and perspective buyers the opportunity to apply for funding in exchange for placing a resident only deed restriction on the Vail property. This program is designed to meet the goal of the Vail Housing 2027 plan to acquire 1,000 new deed restrictions by the year 2027. To date the Town has funded 12 purchases for a total of 13 new deed restrictions; several more applications are approved and are anticipating funding.

  • The Vail Local Housing Authority meets monthly on the second and fourth Tuesdays in the Town of Vail West Building, 75 South Frontage Road West. All meetings are open to the public.
