Night work on Monday, June 27 will require the closure of the South Frontage Road at approximately MP 178 in the Town of Vail. Project impacts will occur on the frontage road between Exit 180 and Exit 176 of EB I-70 between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Traffic will be restricted to emergency vehicles and local access only between the I-70 exits and the construction site on the South Frontage Road. Workers will be installing a drainage structure in the roadway during this time. The South Frontage Road will reopen to one-way traffic at 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 28. Motorists should utilize I-70 as their alternative route between Vail Village and East Vail during this time.

PROJECT DETAILS – The Eastbound I-70 Chain Station Project is located at MP 178.4. Work on this project includes extending the eastbound chain station approximately 1,500 feet to the west, the installation of walls, drainage and lighting. SEMA Construction, Inc. of Centennial, CO serves as prime contractor on this project.
