Parking Reminder for Vail Parking Pass Holders

Parking Reminder for Vail Parking Pass Holders

An end of season reminder is being issued by the Town of Vail to all parking pass holders. Following the last day of paid winter parking on Sunday, April 21, most parking pass types will be enabled for use during the 2019 summer season, which will run Memorial Day weekend through Oct. 7. This includes Red, Green, Blue, Silver and Gold passes as well as the Value card.

The summer parking program will include free daytime access to the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures for all users as well as free public access to the new Red Sandstone parking garage on the North Frontage Road. A $25 fee for overnight parking in the Vail Village and Lionshead structures will be implemented for the second season to discourage vehicle storage, while the Red Sandstone garage will offer free overnight parking for up to 72 hours.

Overnight parking fees will not apply to Red, Green, Blue, Sliver or Gold parking pass holders. Employees who work overnight shifts in Vail Village or Lionshead, as well as guests of lodges with limited on-site parking are also exempt. Please see map for qualified properties.

Current Value card holders will be able to use their pass for free daytime access to the parking structures this summer. If the vehicle is parked in either structure between the hours of 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., a $25 fee will be assessed on the card. As in previous years, Value card holders will need to bring proof of eligibility to the town’s parking offices in November for recertification.

The town’s remaining winter parking pass product, the employee Pink pass, will not be operable for use in the Vail Village or Lionshead parking structures this summer. Instead, Pink pass holders will need to pull a ticket upon entry and insert the ticket to exit for free daytime parking. Overnight charges of $25 will apply to vehicles parked in the structures between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. Current Pink pass holders who will be working overnight shifts during the summer are asked to contact their employer to make arrangements with the town’s Parking Pass Office to obtain a parking pass for the summer at no charge.

For additional details, call the Parking Pass Office at 970-479-2104 before April 19 or visit for information on frequently asked questions.
