Payment Scam in Vail

  • 6 February 2015

A new payment scam surfaced this morning targeting businesses in the Vail area that are served by Holy Cross Energy.

The scamming party calls the business and reports that electric power will be disconnected in 45 minutes unless payment is made. To immediately remedy the situation, the caller indicates that payment can be made over the phone via a credit card.

Holy Cross Energy will not initiate a call to its members (residents or businesses) requesting payment by credit card. If you receive one of these calls, please notify Holy Cross Energy at 970-949-5892 (Avon office) or 970- 945-5491 (Glenwood Springs office).
