For the first time in history, monthly sales tax collections in Vail have exceeded the $4 million mark collected in March.
The town’s sales tax office is estimating March collections
will be up 2.7 percent or $108,339 from budget and up 7.1 percent or $269,159 from March 2014. Ski season (November – March) estimate is up 6.6 percent or $993,535 from the 2013-14 season.
Sales tax collections exceeded $3 million for the first time in February 2008.
