Revised Preliminary Election Results for Town Council

The Vail Town Clerk’s Office is releasing revised preliminary election results as of Wednesday, Nov. 4 in light of a review and determination to count a damaged ballot. The revised totals reflect Dick Cleveland as the fourth runner up to possibly fill the last vacant seat on the council. However, these results remain preliminary until the overseas and active military ballots are counted. The revised preliminary counts are as follows: 

Kim Langmaid  624 votes             
four-year term ends 2019 
Jen Mason 460 votes four-year term ends 2019
Kevin Foley  438 votes four-year term ends 2019
Dick Cleveland 407 votes** two-year term ends 2017
Ludwig “Ludi” Kurz* 406 votes**  
Dorothy “Doe” Browning            
287 votes  
Mark Christie 259 votes

*Incumbent

The revised preliminary election results include a total of 860 votes cast – 21 percent voter turnout based on 4,012 registered voters. There were 543 who voted at the polls and another 317 who voted by absentee ballot. 

There will be no further results released until the overseas and active military ballots have been received and counted. There were 55 ballots issued to overseas and active military ballots. Final results will be released no later than Nov. 13.
