Swearing-In Ceremony, Community Reception for New Town Council Members, Selection of Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem Set for Nov. 17

Newly elected Vail Town Council members Dick Cleveland, Kevin Foley, Kim Langmaid and Jen Mason will be sworn-in at noon Tuesday, Nov. 17 during an organizational meeting of the Town Council.  Foley, Langmaid and Mason will be sworn-in for four-year terms while Cleveland will serve a two-year term. The newly elected members will join Jenn Bruno, Dave Chapin and Greg Moffet on the council whose terms run to 2017. Tuesday’s agenda also includes the election of a mayor and mayor pro tem.

Immediately following the leadership appointments, a public reception will be held to welcome the newly elected members. Light refreshments will be served and community members are encouraged to attend. The reception will be held in the Town Council Chambers.

The Nov. 3 election brought newcomers Langmaid and Mason to the Town Council while Foley and Cleveland have served previously.

There were 863 votes cast in the Nov. 3 election, including 543 ballots cast on Election Day and another 320 absentee ballots. Overall voter turnout was 21.5 percent of 4,012 registered voters.
