Town of Vail Launches 8150 Podcast Hosted by Tony Mauro

The Town of Vail has launched a monthly podcast that focuses on the people, events, policies and activities occurring within the town. Hosted by Tony Mauro of the Rocky Mountain Radio Group, the goal of the Vail 8150 Podcast is to introduce listeners to the informative and unique stories about the work being done by those who contribute to the Vail community. To listen to the podcast, visit ITunes store, Stitcher, Google Play, Tunein or Spotify. Enter Vail 8150.

The latest episode of Vail 8150 features a discussion about a new public art installation in Vail, plus Eagle County’s Safe Passages for Wildlife program. Joining Mauro to introduce the stories is guest host Kim Langmaid, a member of the Vail Town Council and the founder of Walking Mountains Science Center. Langmaid grew up in Vail when many of the streets were still dirt and offers her insights into the community’s rise as the premier international mountain resort community.

In another episode, Mayor Dave Chapin introduces profiles on the Restore the Gore initiative, the popular 10th Mountain Division Legacy Parades and the police department's recruitment efforts.

The new podcast provides the perfect venue for an in-depth exploration of public policy issues and the innovative solutions being used to address them, says communications director Suzanne Silverthorn. “It also provides a chance to get to know those involved in local government on a more personal level,” she said.

Fans of the podcast can contact Mauro via email to provide feedback and ideas for the podcast, or to become a guest on the show.
