Town of Vail Seeking Bids for Chamonix Infrastructure Project

The Town of Vail is seeking bids for the first phase of the Chamonix Neighborhood housing development in West Vail as it relates to installation of site access and utilities. The site work includes construction of water and sanitary sewer mains, storm sewer improvements and conduit for dry utilities. The bid process is occurring as the Town Council simultaneously continues discussions to determine density, unit mix, product type and other components of the for-sale development.

Bidders for the project’s first phase may obtain drawings and specifications for the utility work by emailing Chad Salli, the town’s project manager, at csalli@vailgov.com with the subject line “Chamonix Residential Development Bid Documents.” A pre-bid meeting has been set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 in the Vail Public Works Department Administration Building. 

Bids are due by 11 a.m. on Feb. 5 with selection of a contractor on March 1. The schedule includes construction beginning on April 4 and completed by mid-June. 

Groundbreaking for the second phase of the development, construction of the housing component, would potentially take place later in 2016 and would be built in phases.
