Vail has initiated its national search for a new town manager with applications due July 23. Outreach to potential candidates has already begun and formal advertisements for the position are being placed this week.
A profile has been posted online
that describes the skill set, leadership qualities, experience, personality and other factors that will be used to recruit candidates that are an especially good fit for the position.
The search process was initiated earlier this spring after Greg Clifton announced he would be leaving as Vail’s town manager on April 10. Assistant Town Manager Patty McKenny has been serving as interim town manager to facilitate the transition.
The search is being conducted by Strategic Government Resources, an executive recruitment firm based in Keller, Texas. Once the application period closes, semi-finalists will be selected followed by on-site interviews of finalists scheduled for mid-September.
