Police Chief Dwight Henninger and Fire Chief Mark Novak are hosting a timely conversation around Vail’s Emergency Evacuation Plan, reasons the town may need to be evacuated and how to personally prepare for an evacuation as well as address community concerns and questions.
This livestream event will be shown on the Town of Vail, Vail Police, Vail Fire, and High Five Access Media Facebook pages beginning at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31. Visit https://www.facebook.com/TownofVail/live for the livestream. A moderator will select questions from the public taken from the Facebook livestream comments to pose to the chiefs at the end of the presentation.
The purpose of the Vail Emergency Evacuation Plan is to educate the citizens and guests of Vail on how to respond during an emergency requiring evacuation. It also serves as a guide for the Town of Vail emergency responders. The Emergency Evacuation Plan includes plans for both a partial and a full evacuation of the town.
