The Vail Parking & Transportation Task Force is being reinstated by the Vail Town Council to provide advisory input and recommendations on parking, transit and traffic operations. Applications are being taken for the following seats:
- 2 representatives from the restaurant community
- 2 representatives from the retail community
- 1 representative from the lodging community
- 1 representative from the community at-large
Interested applicants from the restaurant, retail or lodging sectors from the various commercial areas must own or work at a corresponding business within the town; there is no residency requirement. The community at-large representative must reside within the town.

In addition to appointment of the six members, the Task Force will include two Vail Town Council members, two members from the Vail Resorts senior leadership team and a representative from Vail Valley Medical Center. The 11 member group will be supported by various departments and agencies to assist with technical expertise.
The Parking & Transportation Task Force was formed in 1999 in an advisory capacity and has been enacted through the years at the direction of the Vail Town Council. In reinstating the group, recommendations and input will be solicited on both winter and summer operations. A minimum of three will be convened in 2017. The first meeting will be scheduled after the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday in January. All meetings will be open to the public.
