Vail Police Arrest Man for Attempted Murder
On Friday, Feb. 16, Vail police officers responded to a domestic violence incident at a lodge near Vail Village at 11:47 p.m.. Officers were met by the victim who had been assaulted and was found by lodge employees. She told officers that the offender was her boyfriend.  According to police reports, the victim claimed to have been strangled by the suspect with his hands and struck numerous times. The victim was initially found by lodge employees with her hands bound behind her back in police-style flex-cuff zip ties. 

The alleged offender, Martin Ian Goodman, 54, from San Diego, Calif., was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with attempted murder in the first degree, assault in the first degree, second degree kidnapping, reckless endangerment, obstruction of telephone service and domestic violence. The case remains under investigation.

All involved are presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
