Vail Police Sergeant Justin Liffick
Vail Police Chief Dwight Henninger has announced the promotion of Officer Justin Liffick to sergeant and the hiring of two new officers to fill vacancies left by two former officers who have been appointed to leadership roles in other mountain towns. Officer Stephen Williams, previously a dispatcher for the Vail Public Safety Communications Center, has joined the department after completing the Colorado Mountain College, Spring Valley Campus Police

Academy. Chief Henninger is also pleased to welcome Officer Sarah Stewart to the department. Stewart has been a police officer in Tennessee for the past two years. She will be attending a Colorado Update Academy and will be ready to hit the streets in late September.
The staffing additions follow the recent appointment of Annette Dopplick to the position of commander with the Steamboat Springs Police Department. Commander Dopplick spent the past three years as detective sergeant in Vail. Likewise, former Vail Officer Nicola Erb has been selected as the assistant chief of the Breckenridge Police

Department. Both officers had long careers with the Vail Police Department.
Chief Henninger says he’s proud of what Dopplick and Erb accomplished while working in Vail and their leadership appointments reflect positively on the quality of the department’s personnel, nothing that other departments and mountain communities appreciate the high quality, inclusive community policing that occurs in Vail.
As for Vail’s newest personnel, Henninger says he’s confident these new officers will carry on the traditions of excellent service to the community the department has been known for 50 years.
