Officers from the Vail Police Department are inviting community members to join them for a virtual coffee and conversation from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28 from the comfort of their homes via Zoom and Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/VailPD/.
The “Coffee with a Cop” sessions are a continuation of the department’s community policing efforts aimed at improving relationships between police officers and community members and to provide additional opportunities for community conversations. The Vail Police Department is dedicated to continuing its community involvement through these challenging times.
“We hope that community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns or simply get to know our officers in this virtual environment,” said Chief Dwight Henninger. “These interactions are the foundation of our community partnerships and we want to continue them during this public health crisis.”
Officers will be prepared to address a variety questions regarding the new public health orders and their impacts on Vail, the department’s new online reports as well as address community concerns and questions.

A Zoom account is not required to join the discussion. Participants may ask questions throughout the session by using the "Raise Hand" feature in Zoom to be called upon by the host, or by posting questions via comment on the Facebook Live post.
