Vail Transportation Master Plan Update Open House July 11

The Town of Vail is inviting community members to share their thoughts about the town’s transit and transportation system as part of an update to the Vail Transportation Master Plan. An introductory open house will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 11 at the Grand View on the third floor of the Lionshead Welcome Center. Community members are invited to attend and learn more about the update process and to specifically provide input about the Vail Transit network. For example, what do you love about the transit system? What would you like to see changed? What is your vision for the future?

The Vail Transportation Master Plan was originally adopted in 1993 and was most recently updated in 2009. The master plan is used to guide transportation improvements within Vail for the next 20 years.  For example, the I-70 Vail underpass, which is now under construction, was originally identified within the 1993 master plan and then again identified within the 2009 update.

Following the July 11 kick off meeting, additional public and Town Council sessions will be held during the fall to discuss parking and the final draft plan. The major components of the master plan update include traffic, transit and parking.
