The Town of Vail is pleased to announce the hiring of Ernest Saeger to fill the position of special events coordinator. Saeger will be responsible for coordinating the overall town operations for special events including development and implementation of event permitting processes and will be the liaison for event promoters.
An avid mountain biker and outdoor recreation enthusiast, Saeger has worked on events ranging from the PGA Tour, GoPro Mountain Games and the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships. His most recent experience was with the Vail Valley Foundation as director of operations – venues & facilities for their athletic events.
As the town’s newest employee, Saeger joins the town’s economic development team with event liaison specialist Laura Waniuk and headed by Kelli McDonald. McDonald says Seager’s experience with the town event permits and processes as well as his established relationships with town staff and businesses will provide an immediate benefit. “Ernest is familiar with how the Town of Vail handles events from being on the promoter side and is eager to bring his ideas for streamlining the process both internally and externally, which we welcome.”
