Week 17 Free Parking Winner

It’s week 17 of our random drawing for a free day of parking from among our parking pass holder subscribers.  LaVonne Feigelers, please stop by the Town of Vail Parking Office and pick up your voucher for a free day of parking this season to be used any time. Other winners this season have included: Murali Tholakapalli, Robert Farr, Adryen Goldstein, Tom Gosiorowski, Ron Harris, Ward Mahanke, Alaine Lerner, Rhonda Galer, Joshua Mauro, Gregg Jakoby, Paul Strieleman, Brian Connolly, Jenn Bownan, Derek Oakland, Gary Kleiman and Andie Ohde.  Look for announcements throughout the season to see if your name has been drawn.

Tip of the Week

  • Use pay on foot stations for reloading Value Cards on the weekend as phone recharges will not be valid until the next business day/Monday.

Other News

  • Free Spring Back to Vail concert returns to Ford Park on April 15 this season to better accommodate attendees. This will require a closure of the Ford Park lot beginning at midnight on Thursday, April 13. It will reopen at 6 a.m. on Monday, April 17. Watch for details on where Pink and Green passes will be accepted. The Spring Back to Vail concert will feature opening act Magic! and 123GO! Project presented by Bud Light as the headliner. 
  • Additional public parking could be coming to Vail as part of the renovations to Red Sandstone Elementary School. An update will be presented to the Vail Town Council on Tuesday, March 21 to determine if the concept should be pursued.
  • The Vail Parking & Transportation Task Force is recommending the 2017 summer parking season be used to collect data in preparation for some challenges predicted during the 2018 summer parking season. Watch for additional details to be presented to the Vail Town Council, also on Tuesday, March 21.
  • New LED lights have been attached to all 17 parking gate arms at the Village and Lionshead structures. The purpose of these illuminated gates is to increase pedestrian safety and to reduce the potential for damage to the gates by vehicles.
  • New this season! @VailGov is tweeting an alert when free overflow parking is released on the South Frontage Road. Look for the hashtag #vailparking.
