Phase 2 of the I-70 Vail Underpass project includes major construction activities along the North and South Frontage Roads. The traffic flow on the Frontage Roads will mirror I-70 - the North Frontage Road is westbound only through the project site, while the South Frontage Road is eastbound traffic only through the project site. Apart from the project site, the Frontage Roads operate as normal two-way traffic.  Drivers traveling on the Frontage Roads who reach the one-way stretch in the wrong direction will have the opportunity to turn around and use I-70 or the opposite Frontage Road to reach their destination. Note: West Vail transit routes are operating with a modified schedule. The project is scheduled for completion by December 2017. For updated project information, visit www.codot.gov/projects/i70vailunderpass, or call the project hotline at 970-685-7706.
