The Vail Police Department has received several reports of burglaries to construction sites and construction storage containers. Construction site managers are encouraged to thoroughly secure areas in which construction tools are stored and provide adequate lighting to work sites. If you have any information to assist police in identifying suspects, call 970-479-2201 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Online Citizen Portal
Customers of the Community Development Department have access to a 24/7 online citizen portal to submit applications for contractor registration and various construction-related permits. The portal, at http://vail.onlinegovt.com/ also accepts planning applications for review by the Design Review Board and Planning and Environmental Commission. In addition, residents can access the citizen portal to submit a code enforcement request or check to see the status of any permit activity in their neighborhood. Mountain View Residence Phase II, 434 South Frontage Road East
Pending demo permit approval, start date yet TBD, work will include removal of existing vegetation, soils, stone cladding and debris surrounding the existing parking structure on the property. This work is being conducted for the purpose of validating the existing conditions to ensure assumptions made in the design of the proposed building are accurate. Ski and Snowboard Club Vail Redevelopment, 598 Vail Valley Drive
Construction activity is contained within the construction fenced area. This is a redevelopment of the Ski and Snowboard Vail site to include a private and public club and multi-family residential dwelling units. The bike path on the south side of the project is currently closed; it is scheduled to reopen as soon as Vail Mountain opens the Golden Peak portal to the public. Asphalt paving will not be completed until spring of 2019. Completion date is early spring 2019. General contractor is Viele and Company, David Viele, 970-476-3082. Hill Building, 254 Bridge Street
Work to complete the exterior work prior to the start of the holiday season continues. Construction fence will be pushed back to property boundaries ASAP. Construction deliveries will continue to occur on Bridge Street for the project between 7 and 8:30 a.m. This is a major remodel of the building. Use of additional right-of-way requires submittal and approval of a public way permit. The project completion date is scheduled for spring of 2019. Vail Health Hospital East Enabling Work
The north side of the site along the South Frontage Road has reached the bottom of excavation; work is ongoing to install permanent dewatering pipes and vaults. The elevator shafts are also being poured. When this portion of wok is complete, the project will begin the process of coming out of the ground. Site excavation and removal of dirt continues. The excavating contractor has increased the amount of trucks in order to remove as much dirt as possible, with the remaining portion scheduled to be removed by mid-December. Please exercise caution along South Frontage Road and West Meadow Drive near the construction project. Phase II of the Master Facility Plan includes the tear-down and replacement of the current east wing administration building and garage, replacing it with a new garage and new building to house new emergency and imaging departments, as well as a new lobby, central plant, tenant space and material management department. All hospital services will remain open and fully functional throughout the construction. To access the Emergency Department, use West Meadow Drive. Hospital patients and visitors should park in the hospital parking lot on South Frontage Road West. Single lane closures are scheduled for deliveries and concrete pours throughout the winter months; traffic control will be provided. Row House Units 11 & 12, 303 Gore Creek Drive
Single lane closures are scheduled for deliveries and concrete pours throughout the winter months; traffic control will be provided, Project consists of an interior/exterior remodel and addition. Battle Mountain/Lazier Parking Garage, 534 East Lionshead Cr.
Completion of stairs and permanent site fence is pending before the project is considered complete. The proposed new project on the eastern portion of the lot is currently scheduled for spring of 2019. Lionsquare Lodge South Interior Renovation, 660 Lionshead Place
Landscaping and punch list items are scheduled for the spring of 2019. Remaining work is currently contained within the site boundaries. The project includes interior upgrades to the existing conference room, including new celling finishes, room dividers, lighting and interior trim and parking lot improvements. Contractor is R.A. Vail Golf Course, New Starter Shack, 1655 Sunburst Dr.

Vail Golf Course, # 14 and #15 Bridge Replacements, 1755 Sunburst Dr.
The project consists of removal and replacement of #14 and #15 golf cart bridges. Construction is underway with a completion date of mid December 2018. I-70 East Vail Landscape Improvements
Work is complete for the winter months; remaining landscaping and punch list items are scheduled for spring/summer of 2019.The Town of Vail has contracted with Rocky Mountain Custom Landscapes to install landscape improvements at the East Vail interchange. Red Sandstone School Renovation, 551 North Frontage Road
The project includes the complete renovation of Red Sandstone Elementary School. Work includes removing the existing exterior finish material and installing new IECC compliant insulation and new exterior finishes, rearranging the existing school program and classrooms to allow for larger classrooms (to meet the current Eagle County School District standards). The new two-story addition along the south façade of the building will create a cafeteria, serving line, and secure vestibule all of which the school does not currently have. The second level of the addition will house the new library expanding the space to transform the library into a media center space as well. Demo and construction are underway; completion is scheduled for mid February 2019. Contractor is Haselden Construction, Justin Fahnestock, 303-549-8589.
Red Sandstone Elementary School Parking Garage, 551 North Frontage Road West
The bus stop is open in both directions. The completion date to open the parking structure is pending Inspection approvals which are ongoing. Contractor is working hard to open parking structure before Dec. 15. Landscaping and punch list items are scheduled for the spring/summer of 2019. Work includes new steps to the pedestrian overpass bridge, parking lot and bike path improvements. Access to the school and the gymnastics center will be maintained as a clear zone. The Town of Vail and Eagle County Schools are jointly constructing a four-level, 160 space parking structure on the current Red Sandstone School site. The work will include extensive site work to establish a loop road around the parking structure to allow access to each level while at the same time provide a one-way loop road for school drop-off and pick up. Solar Vail Apartments, 501 N. Frontage Road West
Project is contained within the construction fence. Utility work, concrete footers and retaining walls are ongoing. The former employee housing located just east of the Vail Gymnastics Center is being replaced with a 4-story, 65-unit rental housing development for Sonnenalp Resorts.
