Limited public access to the Vail Municipal building, Vail Public Library and other town offices and facilities will be available beginning Monday, June 1 as part of a phased plan to provide restricted in-person services to customers and guests. The transition will require members of the public and employees to wear face coverings and adhere to social distancing as well as occupancy requirements when conducting business in the buildings.
The target date to begin allowing consumption of alcohol in public places in Vail has been set for May 29 following Town Council approval of an emergency ordinance that authorizes the Town Manager to establish such locations. Until then, the Vail Police Department is reminding guests and residents that public consumption of alcohol in Vail remains prohibited. This includes consumption of alcohol on any street, alley, sidewalk, public building or parking lot in the town, or within any vehicle in those areas per Town Code 6-3C-4.
In anticipation of a new public health order from Eagle County that will become effective in the coming days, the Town of Vail is preparing for the next phase of sustainable social distancing that will incrementally return a number of municipal services following a shut-down caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. New questions have been added to learn what the town can do to support the community during the COVID-19 public health crisis. The survey also includes questions used to evaluate municipal service levels and to identify community priorities.
