Vail America Days™ organizers are ready to welcome guests and area residents for the Fourth of July holiday which includes Vail’s popular parade and fireworks display on Saturday, plus a full weekend of activities. Those who gather in Vail and throughout the county are being asked to be mindful that fire restrictions could be enacted at any time for Vail, Eagle County and other surrounding public lands. In addition, all personal fireworks are banned in Vail.

Vail Explores Sister Cities Relationship with San Miguel de Allende
 Representatives from the Town of Vail have returned from a fact-finding trip to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, to explore the possibility of forming a Sister Cities relationship. During their visit, the Vail representatives met with San Miguel’s mayor and officials from San Miguel’s tourism office to discuss the potential for educational and cultural exchanges. Vail will reciprocate San Miguel’s hospitality when the Mexican representatives travel to Vail in July to continue discussions.  

Managed Parking Operations, Express Bus Service Return for Fifth Season

Managed parking operations are returning for the fifth season in Vail beginning Saturday, May 23 during Battle Mountain High School commencement ceremonies at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Ford Park. Parking options for Saturday’s event include free, close-in parking in the Ford Park lot on South Frontage Road as well as the soccer field lot on Vail Valley Drive. Additional free parking will be available in the Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures with express transit service to Ford Park via the South Frontage Road as well as an extension of the in-town route on Vail Valley Drive. The extra bus service will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Vail Delegation Headed to San Miguel de Allende to Explore Sister Cities Relationship

Representatives from the Town of Vail are making arrangements to visit their counterparts in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, later this week for a fact-finding trip to explore the possibility of forming a Sister Cities relationship. At the invitation of the mayor of San Miguel de Allende, Mauricio Trejo, Vail’s five-member delegation will travel to the central Mexico region May 21-24 to learn more about a possible Sister Cities affiliation with the city.
