The Town of Vail is announcing a Gift Card Program to reward hard working employees and boost local Vail business revenue during the shoulder season. The Vail Economic Advisory Council recommended the program as part of economic recovery efforts the town has undertaken to address challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, the town’s numerous economic recovery efforts have received over $2.7 million of funding.
The Town of Vail is pleased to announce that businesses are now eligible to apply online for the commercial rent relief program. The program was developed by representatives from the Vail Economic Advisory Council with assistance from the Economic Development Department and supported by $1 million from the Vail Town Council The program is designed to help support and sustain local businesses as part of the town’s multiple recovery efforts in response to the public health crisis.
The Town of Vail Commission on Special Events is currently accepting funding requests from special event producers for 2021 events occurring in Vail. The RFP application, guidelines and accompanying information are available for submission online.
The Town of Vail Community Development Department will soon be seeking input from the business community on an update to the Sign Code in Title 11 of the Vail Town Code. Changes are needed to address removal of content-related requirements as a result of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Reed vs Town of Gilbert. The scope of the update is not intended to include increasing sizes, locations or manner of display, but will address the way certain signs are regulated and classified. As envisioned, the code update will not require businesses to change how they currently use signage but may allow for more opportunity to creatively display information on the signage allowed.
