Vail Resorts has announced that it will open summer operations at Keystone and Crested Butte on June 26, Vail and Beaver Creek on July 1, and Breckenridge to follow on July 4. The resorts shared operating plans as well as their commitment to safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The five Colorado resorts will open with a limited summer footprint focusing on mountain access and scenic lift rides.
The Vail Town Council will has approved plans to install Advisory Bike Lanes along Vail Valley Drive on a trial basis. The concept was reviewed during council's Tuesday, June 16 meeting.
The Town of Vail is ready to launch a comprehensive master plan process for the West Vail area. Details are available on the EngageVail.com community engagement portal with opportunities to register for project updates. The intent of this plan is to envision planning, zoning and design options as well as transportation infrastructure, housing and economic development for the West Vail area. The planning process is expected to take between 12 and 18 months, with adoption by the Town Council in the spring/summer of 2021.
Environmental sustainability efforts have been identified as Vail’s highest priorities for action according to respondents who took part in the Town of Vail community survey which was circulated during the spring. The survey findings were presented to the Town Council on June 16 by the research firm RRC Associates which also included an overview of department and service ratings as well as comments associated with the public health crisis.
