Hosted by the Vail Town Council, the event included a tribute to noted water attorney Glenn Porzak as the newest Trailblazer honoree, plus recognition of fire Lt. Scott Bridges who is recovering from injuries he sustained while helping at an accident scene. Mayor Dave Chapin delivered the State of the Town address with assistance from Town Manager Greg Clifton, while other members of the Town Council joined in narrating a video describing the town’s progress on a number of important topics including, housing, sustainability, parking and an elevated partnership with the leadership team at Vail Mountain. The community gathering also included remarks from Vail Mountain Chief Operating Officer Doug Lovell regarding the epic season, to date, and an introduction of Beaver Creek COO Beth Howard who will transition into the role as Vail Mountain COO upon Lovell’s retirement at the end of the season.
New this year was a drawing for a Blue parking pass for the 2019-2020 season which was awarded to Grace Poganski of East Vail.
